We thought it'd only be fair if we were to share some of the very few pictures taken in memory of the night we have earnestly anticipated for; where every specimen in the bodies of both FT and PMS shivered while watching the super backstage chaos heighten, and waiting for the show to start, which then, felt like forever!

And especially to our many lovely readers who, unfortunately, did not manage to snap up some FT x PMS invites for the event (thanks to the peanut space that Barsonic had to offer and where 80% of that peanut space were dedicated to the runway platform itself!), we sincerely apologize, with tears! So we're making it up to you guys out there with some lovely pictures taken by our amazing photographers Jules & Jason! hehe ;)

Yes people we're back in KL and yet another wacky collaborative project is right upfront in queue we can literally smell it, can you? This time, it's the Project Muff Stit and the ever resourceful Femmething family!

Besides having a taste of a world driven by fe-male ego, do anticipate a night pumped up with fashion runway by us, kickarss illustrations by fashion illustrator, Shairazi Sulastry aka GG, photographer, Fazil ‘Zillieman’ Fuad, a special art exhibit by Bulu Bulu Studios and of course, the non-stop head bopping finger pointing hair flinging music by Dj XU (the other half of the Lapsap boys). All under one roof!

We're so friggin' pumped, we're giving out invites like a maniac (in trio, imagine.) ! So for you readers who will be in KL this friday, email us at projectmuffstit@gmail.com to get hold onto yours.

PROJECTMUFFSTIT X STESHA HO

Today, marks the end of our 2 month long slave fest; and finally a day we can all say, 'damn it, it's a friggin wrap'! If you even give a two cents about what we two crazee wannabe-try-hard girls are up to, hold your horses and freeze right there dollies! Pump the stereos up, get comfortable and pin your eyes on this collaborative work by ProjectMuffStit and Stesha Ho.

What's the formula, u ask?

Step 1: Downing our regular jugs of Ice Jasmine Green Tea with extra honey pearls for that inspiration punch. A little habit we got hooked on since a couple months back. Teehee.

Step 2: Paint the images of 6 dress designs in our micro brains and imagine it come to life, of course while pigging out on some Tuna Carpaccio!

Step 3: Enslaved Stesha Ho to sketch out our brainwork on paper.

Step 4: Made trip after trips of fabric hunting. So crazy its not funny.

Step 5: Fairy got to work and zombied herself on that monster machine, eventually making our designs come to life. woots!

'A collection based on the tale of two lost girls and their trusty lil' fairy'

Mocha cocktail dress

We went a bit crazy with the ‘Poof’ here but I guess it didn’t turn out half bad. Teehee. Mocha silk organza hand-sewn onto champagne coloured tube and finished off with a black circle skirt. This will fit a size 8-10.

Asymmetrical Gradient Panel cocktail dress

This is one dress that broke Stesh into cold sweat while she camped the night hand-sewing each panel to achieve that asymmetrical effect on the dress. Made from Poly Satin fabric in Midnight Blue, Royal Blue, Crayon Blue, Purple & Maroon. Self-lined with a full circle skirt. For those who’d like some edge (pun intended). Best fitted on a size 8-10

Heavy Cotton Hooded dress/top

Play Black Riding Hood with this minimal cowl draped neckline dress/top that comes with a last minute addition of a back flap hoodie and rolled up sleeves. Made from black heavy cotton fabric. A good size 8 fit.

Silk Drop Crotch Jumpsuit

Made from 100% silk in chalk gray, so if you’re thinking this is one hellavu comfy piece, you’re pretty damn right. Comes attached with 2 black jersey knotted ropes for you to play fairy tale story with all night long. Good for a size 8-10.

Dark Gray jersey dress with knotted strings

This dress went through multiple design change but we finally agreed on a slouch open sleeved jersey dress with a low back. Stesh came up with the brilliant idea of knotting the jersey strips to create some complexity and drama to this simple knit piece. Size 8-10

FEATURE: STESHA HO

The main reason why we started ProjectMuffStit couple of months back was to work on collaborative projects with creative individuals in the fashion+art+design industry. Fate brought us to bump into Stesha Ho on the streets about 3 months ago. A couple of meet ups and alcohol shots after, we brought her on board to work on a project with us.

Apart from being our former high school junior and now our trusty lil fairy, Stesh is a 2nd year student at RMIT’s Diploma of Textiles, Clothing and Footwear. Her foundation at LimKokWing University has helped her garner an amazing skill in fashion sketches in which stunned the hell outta both of us. Friggin no joke wtfomgkillergilerbabikrazee.

Her style is the epitome of haute couture on fire with distinctive elaborateness and minute detailing sometimes even the eye can’t see. She’s THAT anal believe us you.

If there was one person in the world that watches O.C while sewing tartan prints on a big ass industrial sewing machine, it would be her. Nutso? We think so too; but you’ll be amazed how she pushes her limit with her keen eye and attention to details. To quote, “I rather make one kickass dress than hundreds of average ones”. Damn well said.

5 Random facts about Stesha Ho:
- Biggest history buff who owns a big arse shelf collection of history books and that sorta errr…boring stuff. Heh
- Stresses too much it’s crazy
- Capable of drinking 10x more the alcohol capacity than her boyfriend
- High chances of automatic doors not opening for her, she’s just that small
- Her lousy can’t do alcohol boyfriend is none other than our photography slut beyotch, Zillieman.

For a small, petite girl like her, we see big things coming her way, and that’s almost an understatement.

Contest Tee-Up!

To recover from our long haul hiatus, the Muffstit peeps are running a week long contest for the sake of dressing up fun. Tee hee. The subject being : White Tees.

All you gotta do is style 'em up using a basic WHITE TEE (we couldnt give a fly if it was a big T, small T, dirty T or Grandpa's T, as long as its a white T, we're taking it!) work some clicks with the camera, post them up on your personal site, link us back (and mail us!) and we'll come stalking you guys by picking our favourite! Project MuffStit x Zillieman

Objective: To make cheap things look friggin HAWT!

Tools: Clothes, Models, Awesome cameraman, Stylist wannabe, dingy alley, FUN

The MuffStit clan had the pleasure of collaborating with photographer friend, Fazil 'Zillieman' Fuad for a friggin AWESOME photoshoot couple of days ago.

Here's a background check on him:

Interested in photography from the day his father handed him his first digital camera and a Canon EOS 888 for his 14th, exploring the wonders of art and design eversince. Rebelious against his parent's wishes for him to take up engineering during his teen years; the Zillieman decided his persuading skills are worth more and finally managed to convince that he's perhaps the more artistic one in his family (Damn sure he is).

Currently studying Communication Design in RMIT, Melbourne, Australia. Packs a Canon EOS 350D (70-300mm f4.5-5.6, 18-55mm f3.5-5.6, 50mm f1.8), imagination and a good cup of coffee

You ought to check out his photos and the blown up pics on his site. Too damn FINE.

We played stylist wannabe with the motive of turning cheap/reasonably priced clothes into pure gems.

Results? .....pricelesssssssss....

Project Alter Ego

Objective: To be the cheapskates we are, revamping a dress using only AUD$28 to create a whole new dress

Tools: Itchy fingers, victim dress, fabric paint, paint brush, fabric, thread, scissors, measuring tape, LOTSA LOVE

No thanx to Chelle's poorest/desperate days, she had to work her itchy fingers to create a new dress from her closet choice. Meet victim dress:

Bustier red dress worn once. Wouldnt wana be seen wearing the same red dress twice innit?

What you'll be needing: Some fabric, fabric paint, paint brush, thread, measuring tape

(note: You could always use fabric dyes if your dress is made of cotton, wool, silk...etc. Mine was made of polyester fabric and was just a pain in the arse to paint)

This dress was inspired by the whole Miu Miu look (ya, quite unoriginal..but heck, we're no designers).

A bit of amateur hand stitching and many finger pricks later....

This wasn't the purple we were looking for, but it was the best we could work with.

Make sure you've got power brushes, it makes the hell lot of difference.

and TADA! (ignore my CHEEESY TEETHY smile)..focus on the dress!!!

Unfortunately the purple turned out looking like dirty purple, but there wasn't really anything else that could be done.

If you have been an avid follower of Project Muff Stit, you'd probably think we the Muff & Stit duos have reached our blind alley, lost all inspirations and killed the project altogether!

No no, dont' sulk just yet ladies. We are now back (not that we were really away), with double portions!! In fact, Project Muff Stit has a newborn little baby sista, **MUFF STIT SHOP . COM**!

This princess is filled with amazing vintage yums and crazy 50's Beatnik printed dresses and to-die-for junks, all waiting for their new homes.

So quick! Get your bumbum there!! Mrs Piuseppe (the granny next door) is already sitted by the fireplace waiting to knit you darlings some warm fuzzy mohair cardi while you have a sip of Earl Grey, a bite of homemade oven baked scones, and shop some more!! While we continue to treasure hunt and deliver all the goodies right to your doorstep with a note of love.

Project Reddock

Thanx to our dear reader, Natalie Reddock for her email, we manage to pull off another simple project for you readers. Specially for you Natalie. =)

She asks: 'How do you change your summer wear into things that can be worn in the winter?'

I guess a lot of us do have that habit of stuffing our summer wear deep into the closet once fall/winter comes along. It's a shame how sometimes we dont make full use of our clothing capacity and only stick to the usual 'fall/winter' pieces.

So here's a few polyvore outfits we played around with using some spring/summer pieces for colder days:

Project Reddock

Objective: To change basic summer wear to outfits that can be worn to fight the horrid cold. Brr.

Tools: Basic summer pieces, some fall/winter pieces, a lot of mix & match

Your basic spring/summer pieces: Stripe Tee & denim shorts

Pair them with some leggings under, throw those leather jacket and pair it with some booty to fight that cold. Oh ma, that forest green Dr Marts are killin us, LOVE LOVE

Your basic spring/summer piece: Basic slouch tank & Black chiffon skirt

Throw on a knit cardi and some warm wooly stockings to complete that fall preppy look.

Your spring/summer pieces: Basic tank top and checkered trousers

Put on a simple blazer and throw em accessories like a crazy mama to spice up that dull winter look

Your spring/summer pieces: Ol skool basic Tee, a summer maxi skirt

If you're thinking of wearing simple Tees under, try throwing on a thicker cardigan for extra warmth (even better if they have layers like the one above). And of course, work some colour with your scarves!

Best Behaviour

When I discovered the amazing brand Best Behaviour by the Danish duo, Marie Ørberg and Malene Brøchner, I was everything but at my best behaviour; squirming around my cushion seat in much excitement and ooh-and-aah-ing at every detail and folds, and already beating my brains off thinking how I would pair each and every piece with (if I were to own any, and happen to be in Sydney or even a Copenhagen kid, daymm!)

'Best Behaviors' concept is to create casual fashion with comfortable materials, which creates the characteristic of a relaxed look that Best Behavior prefers. The focus is on simple colours, unusual cuts, cool details and above all - a good fit. '

It seems they have definitely achieved what looks like casual fashion to me, with pieces from the aw08 collection, everything was religiously kept to the minimal, cool neutrals, loose relaxed cuts, warm fuzzy knits, jumbo scarves and abit of a drop-crotch pants thrown in here and there. Ohh just superb garments with superb drapings for ultra superb layerings. Haa, suddenly i wish for winter to never go awayy......

Project '6 for the price of 1'

Objective: To get 6 times the worth of an oversized denim shirt (bcos we're cheap like that, heh)

Tools: Oversized denim shirt, belt, random Tees, some creativity

We've all gone through days when dressing up becomes a pain in the arse. You've got a shirt, but damn, what do you do with it? Well here's a couple of ways we played around with using a simple oversized denim shirt. Makes life a whole lot easier when u've got a few options to play around with huh?

Wear it how your father would

Or wear it over a Tee and turn it into a bustier tube dress

Or you could try turning it into a long slouchy skirt for that grungier look

Or wear it short?

A simple denim collared dress perhaps?

or wear it over the neck during cooler days

Try this on your oversized checked shirt or a vintage floral piece for different looks. We're sure there's more to play around with , but this is just a few we thought you might have fun experimenting with.

The Launch: Project XXX

' A peculiar day at Mayfair Street got Muff & Stit inspired to do something. Something that only they understood, something that no one else with the right set of mind would ever pursue because really……..it’s just as good as mass murdering brain cells, but knowing how crazy these 2 are, they’d still run like free-range chickens out on the loose (brain dead or not).

It wasn’t until that crazy lady down at Mayfair Street that urged them to start ProjectMuffStit, a collaboration that celebrates home-made fashion; a project of fashion projects. '

So here we are launching this baby project of ours for the very first time. If you're one of those who enjoy a jackload of creative, fun, fashion focused projects, then baby, you're home!!!!

We thought what better way than to start the launch with our very first project:

Project XXX
Objective: To style a photoshoot depicting different styles and mood.
Tools: 4 MuffStit friends, old newspaper, lotsa tape, a trunkload of clothes, Toy Poodle, knick knacks, lotsa dead brain cells

Muffstit friend 1: Sweat Lee
The epitome of a girl-next-door, someone who stays true to simplicity and fuss free clothing. We decided to play with 2 different looks of 'Work & Holiday': Cheeky secretary and pup loving hippie.

MuffStit friend 2: Elia
A fashionista in her own rights, Elia managed to pull some strings and scored us some goodies from local Malaysian designer, Pu3 (eg: the blue goddess dress, red jersey ruched top) The idea of this shoot was to create outfits that could be worn to please the night crowd and yet dim enough for daytime wear.

MuffStit Friend 3: Sherve
A good friend full of joy and laughters, so we thought what better way than to put her into outfits that suit her personality! We kept it minimal and used 2 same dresses (of different colours) to create 2 very different looks.

MuffStit Friend 4: Lye
A rocker chic at heart who loves her labels. So we got cheeky and made her succumb to girly frocks just to get on her nerves. hehe. But you gotta agree she's rockin those florals and knee highs.

So down to the juicy part!! If you've noticed, this project doesn't actually have a name just yet. What we'd like you creative minds to do is start sending in suggestions as to WHAT you'd think would best suit this style photoshoot project. Basically we want those 'XXX's to be filled up yawww!
